I recently experienced a bit of a “rough patch” and found these words deeply inspiring so I thought I’d share:
A natural pearl begins its life as an irritant, such as a grain of sand, that intrudes upon the oysters home. In order to protect itself from the irritating intruder, the oyster will cover it in layers and layers of nacre, mother of pearl, until the beautiful gem is formed.
A diamond formed in nature starts its journey as a carbon-containing mineral deep within the earth. About 100 miles below the surface in temperatures reaching upwards of 3000 degrees and surrounded by incomprehensible pressure. It will sit in these conditions between 1 to 3 billion years, patiently waiting for the very deep-seated violent volcanic eruption that will bring it to the surface. It will travel up to 30 mph through this process before the earth spits this beautiful gem into our world.
One of the most violent occurrences in our universe is when two galaxies collide. Fiery looking plumes of gas pour out of the galaxies center. Planets and moons collide smashing apart. Things freeze and burn all at the same time. And in the midst of all of that, it gives birth to one of the most beautiful occurrences in all the Universe…starbursts! Millions of new stars are born starting the process of new life all over again.
Just because it feels bad doesn’t mean that it is.
Sometimes things have to fall apart in order to fall together.
We get to start over today, my friends.
New day, new experiences, new opportunities.
Thank God for new beginnings!
Who will YOU touch? What will YOU create? How will YOU show up?
