Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “universal energy,” and is based on the belief that universal life force energy can be channeled through a practitioner. Benefits include a deep sense of relaxation, decreased anxiety, and increase in general sense of well-being. The American Cancer Society defines Reiki as “a form of hands-on treatment used to manipulate fields within and around the body in order to liberate the body’s natural healing powers.” This technique is non-manipulative and works with or without touch, as preferred.

During this class, you will learn to harness this ancient hands-on healing technique and connect with Universal Life Force Energy for healing of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.

The first portion of class includes the history of Reiki, intentional healing, energy anatomy, emotional causes for physical disease, practical application methods and the simple art of healing oneself as well as others. During the second level, you will learn 3 reiki symbols and their usage. Students will learn to share these healing principles, properties, and symbols during a Reiki exchange.
