Okay y’all…You know I LOVE essential oils. I love them so much that I use them EVERY SINGLE DAY. Some for my meditation practice, some for health and beauty, and some just because I love their scent!

I also use them in my spiritual healing practice to help clients ease anxiety, elevate their vibration and bring balance and tranquility. I have a number of recipes that I love to use especially during the holiday season, and I thought I would share some of them with you to add to your repertoire. Not only do they smell fabulous, but the effects on your nervous system are both calming and relaxing. (They make GREAT gifts, too.)

Enjoy!

Sweet Lavender Bath Salts

Lavender Smells Divine and is Oh-So-Good for Relaxing the Body and Mind. Floral and relaxing, these salts are a perfect addition to any bath.

Ingredients:

– 1 cup Salt (Epsom and / or Sea Salt – I like to combine the two)
– 1/4 cup Baking Soda
– 10 drops organic Lavender essential oil
– 1 TBSP organic Lavender flowers

Instructions:

Mix salt and baking soda together in a large bowl. Add essential oil and Lavender flowers, blend well. Package in a jar, or use right away. I always tell people to put them in a reusable tea bag or old sock so that they don’t have to clean the tub after they’re all nice and relaxed. Who wants to do that?!

Brown Sugar & Vanilla Body Scrub (one of my FAVORITES!!!)

A sweet smelling body scrub which will leave your skin feeling silky smooth.

– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup + 3 TBSP Coconut oil
– 1/4 tsp Vanilla flavoring extract

Instructions: Blend sugars together in a bowl, add oil and vanilla extract, and mix well (for an exotic and relaxing effect, add 5 drops of Ylang Ylang and 15 drops of Sandalwood.)  Package in some cute mason jars, and enjoy. (You can also use plastic containers for around the tub.) Note: the oil in this recipe will make your tub slippery, so use with caution.

Holiday Bliss Body Oil

A floral, earthy and sweet blend which will appeal to women and men alike.

– ½ oz organic Jojoba oil
– 15 drops organic Cedarwood essential oil
– 15 drops organic Evergreen or Pine essential oil

– 15 drops orange

Instructions: Blend and apply as desired.

I like to buy my essential oils from Mountain Rose Herbs, Starwest Botanicals and New Directions. You can also buy local at Sprouts or Whole Foods. Please note: You can always switch out the carrier oils in each recipe based on your own liking. I also like jojoba, avocado and grapeseed oils. Experiment and see what works well for you. HAVE FUN AND HAPPY BLENDING!
