Maybe you can relate?
Picture this…I’m in Athens, Greece with love of my life on a total bucket list trip of a lifetime…we’ve had an amazing adventure meeting tons of wonderful people, indulging in some of the most amazing cuisine I’ve ever tasted, and visiting sights I have only dreamed of!
It’s a cool, drizzly morning and we are exploring the famous ancient ruins of The Acropolis. It’s packed with tourists from all over the world, but the sites are breathtakingly beautiful and keep me pretty focused.
After a while, we start descending the mountain and my hubby’s leg gives out, and he takes a nasty fall. (Scares the crap out of me!) Two wonderful men named Ben and Jerome rush over to assist him back to his feet and into a nearby chair where he can catch his breath. (I have since taken to calling them Ben & Jerry – after my favorite ice cream lol!)
These two angels stay with us for several minutes until the hubs starts feeling better and then continue on their way. We thank them profusely and start our way back to the Air B & B we’re staying in.
At this point, my husband and I are discussing our gratitude and appreciation for these wonderful men and the fact that my hubby is okay, and basically injury-free, minus a little stiffness.
Now, most of the time I have a pretty joyful disposition of always looking for the goodness in the world, but out of nowhere my magic magnifying mind begins to focus on how much more busy the streets of Athens have become and how many people seem to be clueless that he is hobbling through the streets. I’m feeling overwhelmed, annoyed and protective.
I am no longer focused on how awesome it is that he’s okay and that there were wonderful people put in our path at just the right time, in just the right place…instead, I am getting angry at these other people who are “so rude”, and cutting us off, and acting as if we aren’t even there!
Frustrated, resentful and full of piss and vinegar, I begin spewing all of this onto my sweet hubby to which he says, “Why are you letting all these people bother you so much? They are just living their lives. Why are you taking all of this so personally?”
Oh man! He’s right (of course I don’t tell him that in the moment). Instead I get even more perturbed and worked up until something miraculous happens…I ask for help. I take a deep breath, open my heart and pray to let love in; to help me focus on the good instead of the funk, and to shift my thoughts toward love. And guess what!? It works!
Because of this pause, because of this willingness to see things differently, because of this simple reminder he has given me, a shift in perception happens and a new frequency is born. One of awe and gratitude and acceptance and peace. And we ended up having a great rest of the day.
Everything in the universe is made up of energy. Everything. Our thoughts are made up of energy. Science shows that the universe constantly reacts to our energy, vibration, and frequency, which all make up our state of BEING.
Where we focus our attention matters. The law of attraction states that the universe responds by giving you more of whatever you are putting out, meaning the universe will match your energy.
Now I’m not saying it’s always easy, (this is where calling upon our guides and angels can help) but I am saying it’s always possible. We have a choice. Every single day, in every single moment, we get to choose our vibration, our frequency and how we look at things.
So, my friends, what are you thinking/ feeling right now? Who are you BEING? Does it match what you want to create and how you want to live your life? If not, choose again. The universe is listening.
