Happy Fall to ya!
As many of you know, yesterday was the first day of autumn and this just happens to be my most favorite season of all. I love curling up with a good book while wrapped in my comfy-cozy cardigan, sipping the fragrant blend of hot chai tea. And let’s not forget the caramel apples and pumpkin EVERYTHING!! Yum!
We spend a lot of our weekends in Northern Arizona and I am happy to report that fall is in full swing up here. With all of the cool, crisp air, the Maples are just beginning to turn scarlet red while all the Cottonwoods and Aspen are turning into a vibrant golden yellow. It’s Mother Nature’s version of tie-dye! I just love it! If you are a fan of the change in season, you might want to try these fabulous fall aromatherapy recipes:
Autumn Diffuser Blend:
- 4 drops Cardamom
- 2 drops Orange
- 1 drop Cinnamon
- 1 drop Clove
Directions: Add essential oils to filtered or distilled water. Pour into diffuser and ENJOY!
Pumpkin Spice Spray:
- 20 drops Cinnamon
- 15 drops Nutmeg
- 15 drops Ginger
- 15 drops Clove
- 10 drops Orange
- 5 drops Cardamom
Supplies:
- Four ounce bottle with spray top
- Four ounces of distilled or filtered water
- Essential oils
Directions:
- Blend ingredients listed above to your liking (add water first to prevent spilling oils)
- Spray into halo over head
- Inhale deeply
- Repeat as necessary
Autumn Essentials for Home:
- 2-3 cinnamon sticks
- a few whole cloves
- 2-3 drops of vanilla extract
- 2-3 star anise (if you have them, if not, you can easily leave this ingredient out)
- 1 orange sliced into round thin slices
Directions: Fill a midsized pot half way with warm water over medium low heat. Drop in all ingredients and allow to simmer. You can leave this mix on the stove top for at least a few hours. Be sure to add additional water as needed if your water starts to dry up. Enjoy the warm and inviting smell of fall in your home. This scent will be sure to help you make and remember memories for years to come!
