‘Tis the season for all kinds of yummy treats and goodies, but if you’re like me, you get kinda burned out on all the sugar. Here’s a special treat to warm your mug this holiday season … without sacrificing taste. ENJOY!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups Coconut or Almond milk
  • 2 tbsp. dried Ginger root
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 8-10 whole Cloves
  • 8-10 whole Cardamom pods
  • ¼ tsp. whole Black Peppercorns
  • 2 TBSP Black or Rooibos Tea
  • Honey to taste (I use local wildflower honey to boost immunity to pollen and other allergens)
  • Dash of Nutmeg

Directions:

Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add spices and tea leaves. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 5 minutes (or longer for stronger taste.) Stir occasionally. Add milk and allow it to heat up, then remove from the stove. Strain. Stir in honey. Add a dash of nutmeg on top and … voila!  HOMEMADE CHAI LATTE!  Yum!
